About Us

College of the Redwoods Adult Education offers free classes and programs at numerous locations throughout Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. Programs are designed to increase educational attainment and career success by providing the preparation and skills needed for employment, continuing education, and personal growth.

Our Vision

To rethink and redesign an educational system for Humboldt and Del Norte County students that creates a seamless and logical transition between the adult education programs and the community college, with the intent to accelerate academic and career success in order to earn a living wage.

How to Apply

  1. Apply online. Like all CR students, Adult Education students apply online through CCC Apply. Get started with the CR Application.
  2. Still have questions, contact an Adult Education Advisor. They are available at any time to assist you with applying and finding the correct classes.

Search the Class Schedule

  1. Go to WebAdvisor
  2. Choose 'Search for Classes' in the list on the left side
  3. Select your Term from the dropdown menu
  4. Select an Adult Ed Subject below from the dropdown menu, and then click the Submit button.

    • Guidance

    • Reading
    • Work

Adult Ed classes are all 200 level courses, for example: ESL 201 and EDUC 220.
The Class Selection Results will provide you with the name of the class, the location, and the time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Adult Education offers classes for high school equivalency (GED/HiSET preparation), college preparation, career preparation, English language, and classes for adults with disabilities. Contact Adult Education to learn more about current classes.

Adult Education classes are offered at the Eureka, Del Norte, and Klamath-Trinity campuses. Classes are also taught at the Eureka Downtown site, the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, Pelican Bay State Prison, and at many community locations throughout the College of the Redwoods District.

No. All Adult Education classes are free.

Complete the College of the Redwoods online application here: Apply to CR. Then, contact Adult Education to schedule an appointment to meet with a Student Development Advisor.

HiSET testing is currently on hold at our testing centers. You can still sign up for At-Home testing through the HiSET portal.

To schedule a HiSET exam, create an account at https://hiset.ets.org. After creating the HiSET account, schedule your test on the HiSET website. If you need assistance, please contact Adult Education at 707-476-4500.

Student Development Advisors

Advisors provide individualized support to current and prospective students. They help students set goals and make plans to achieve those goals, and identify barriers to their success and strategies to overcome them. They can assist students with completing the College of the Redwoods application, selecting and registering for classes, and using online tools like CR’s student email and WebAdvisor. They can also help current Adult Education students complete the necessary steps to begin a credit program at CR.
