In partnership with the Eureka VA Clinic, College of the Redwoods Adult and Community Education programs are pleased to offer a Veteran's Ceramics class!
These classes are offerred several times a year, and space is limited,
Spring 2024 dates:
February 5 - May 3 2024
Mondays and Fridays 5:00p - 8:00p
Location: NEW Creative Arts Building CA106, CR Main Campus
Class Capacity: 25
Costs: $325.00 (free to all veteran's who are part of the Eureka CA Clinic)
This class is specifically for Veterans to learn the ceramic process from a local veteran artist while sharing space and time with other veterans. The class will include learning a variety of throwing, hand building, and altering techniques to exploit the wonderful qualities of clay.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand how to throw pots
- Understand how to use hand building techniques
- Understand the qualities of the clay used to create ceramic pieces
Materials Provided
Supplies/Materials – glazes & clay
A beginner’s tool kit and bucket
Materials Required from Student
Wear closed toed shoes
Old towel that can get dirty
Apron is nice to have as well.
