Early Childhood Education

Would you like to help children explore their world, deepen their thinking and develop their social relationships?

About Us

The goal of CR’s multifaceted Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is to train dynamic, capable and qualified teachers to meet the changing needs of our community. Many students leave our program ready to join the workforce as licensed preschool teachers or day-care site directors, while others transfer to a university to continue training in this rewarding and rapidly changing field.

Other Education Opportunities

ECE courses allow students to meet requirements for the California Child Development Permit from Assistant to Site Supervisor. Permits are issued by the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing.

Transfer Opportunities

Under the Curriculum Alignment Project, all of your ECE courses will transfer 1-to-1 to a California State University (CSU).

With an Associate Degree in Science in Early Childhood Education, you can transfer to Humboldt State University (or another CSU) as a junior, ready to complete a bachelor’s degree that will prepare you for more advanced career options.
