Jain Tuey is entering her 6th year as head coach for College of the Redwoods. Before becoming head coach at CR, Coach Tuey was Head Assistant coach for Doug Oliviera for 2 years at CR.
Previous to coaching Jain played 2 years at Humboldt State- named captain her senior year and also revived the Fighting Jack award from her coaches and teammates, for her consistent hard work and fight to never give up. She was also recognized for being the teammate who inspired her team to always work harder and never quit.
Before Humboldt State she transferred from College of the Redwoods where she played 1 year. She was captain of her team and led her team to second place in conference and the 2nd round in state playoffs. She was awarded GVC all-conference team and MVP by her team. She was also top ten in state for scoring. During her year at CR her team of six players broke many team records, such as, first team to make playoffs in 20 plus years, and best conference record in 10 years.
Previous to CR, Jain played 1 year at Shasta College where she was named freshman captain of her team and started every game her freshman year. Her team was co-champions for conference and also made it to the second round of state playoffs. That year Jain was awarded GVC all-freshman team and Honorable mention for GVC all-conference team.
In the 2 years between playing for Shasta and CR Jain was the assistant coach for Fortuna high freshman girls team where they went undefeated her first year.
Jain Tuey received her bachelors in Kinesiology with an emphasis in teaching and coaching and plans to get her masters in the future.
