Blake Rossman

Assistant Coach

 

Blake Rossman made some unique history in the 2022-2023 season. After the Corsairs secured their third straight Golden Valley Conference championship, Rossman became the first ever Corsair to win a Golden Valley Conference title as a player and coach. Coach Rossman played an important role as a forward on the Redwoods 2019-2020 Golden Valley Conference Championship team. Known for his basketball IQ and poise, Blake has taken those gifts to the sidelines.

“I’ve invested a lot of sweat equity into this program and, to now see it from a different point of view, motivates me even more to contribute as a coach,” says Rossman. “Being so fresh from my playing days, I want to be that seamless bridge from players to coaches. I’m learning quick and want to continue to do so.”

“Blake is a real asset,” says Bisio. “He maximized his abilities as a player and, often, those are the people who become good coaches. His knack for player movement and anticipation has been crucial for our forwards who are just learning to feel the game out at this level. His growth as a coach this year was evident and widely felt throughout our program.

Blake has also coached AAU for the Humboldt Wild AAU program, directed by Corsairs lead assistant Justin Claus.

Blake graduated from Hoopa High School in 2017, where he was team captain and an All-Conference selection for the Warriors. Rossman and the Warriors competed in the North Coast Section playoffs his senior year.

Blake graduated with an AA degree from College of the Redwoods in 2020.
