Jason White was hired in April of 2021 as College of the Redwoods new head football coach. White has 27 years of experience teaching and coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels and has a master’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly Humboldt (formerly Humboldt State University).
White grew up in Fort Bragg, CA where he started playing football in high school. He then went on to play at College of the Redwoods in 1989-90 before transferring to Cal Poly Humboldt. While at Cal Poly Humboldt, White earned 2nd team all-conference honors and was named to the NSCA All-American Strength team. After completing his college playing career, White returned to College of the Redwoods as an assistant coach for 10 years, where he served in multiple roles, including coaching running backs, offensive line coach, and offensive coordinator. During that time, College of the Redwoods played in 5 bowl games. In 2003 White moved to Cal Poly Humboldt as the offensive line coach for five years and the assistant head coach for two years. In 2006 the Lumberjacks went 9-1, their best record since 1968. Following a 5-year stint as the Athletic Director and Head Football coach at St. Bernard’s High School Coach White coached and taught at Eureka High School where he led the Loggers to three conference titles, two undefeated regular season records in 2017 and 2018, and an appearance in the 2018 CIF NorCal Regional game.
Coach White has lived in Fieldbrook with his wife Maggie since 2004. They have three children - Hayden, Rachel, and Jasmine.
